Bizzaro Superman’s Evil Twin
Ahh, The Time Machine, a legend in Science fiction and pulp art.
In 1895, HG Well’s released the novel the Time Machine. It was amazing, the idea that human beings could breach the veil to outer space was unbelievable, yet entertaining. In the story a scientist successfully travels forward thorugh time. He moves past atomic bombs, and human destruction and eventually finds a primevil state of being in the future. In this time the Morelocks and the Eloi live in a strange separation. The Eloi are innocent, look like a human but are not as aware as a human from the 1890s. The Morelocks were humans who chose to live underground.
It’s filled with adventure, a girl in distress and a man who has to decide what time he wants to live in. There were two movies made, but the 1960’s verision is really our favoirte.
Here are some pulp cover art all based on time machines
And one more thing: Supposedly Time Travel has already happened.

For those of you who don’t know, Pulp Images will be launching a Kickstarter campaign in June to help fund our mission: preserving pulp art by creating an online digital archive, making the art easily accessible and usable for YOU!
We’ve got big dreams and we know that with the help of a Kickstarter campaign backers we can make it happen. Pulp Images is offering some out-of-this-world incentives for our backers too. Incentives like limited edition posters, tee-shirts, ray guns, figurines, and model rockets.
We also want to help you see how you can fit into the pulp world and Spike-O is going to make it happen.
Spike is the artist that will create the pulp image with YOU as the Good Guy/Babe, Bad Guy/Babe!! With his picture of you, we will create a Pulp Magazine Cover and provide you with both the artists inked sketch and the final full color poster. This is one of the incentive options. Plan to see this in Kickstarter in June!
A few days ago we introduced the new website for Pulp Images.
So following suite, here at the Pulp Images blog, we’d like to take a moment and make a few more introductions.
Meet a few members of our crew (though there’s plenty more)!
Dwayne Kiefer has been with NASA as a contractor going on his 21st year. Dwayne has worked on many teams that has flown numerous items in space. As a surprise to even him, he has won numerous (and some prestigious) awards. He is one of the workhorses behind all of the pulpimages activities. If you like our metal fulfillment items, thank Dwayne! He is the guy that does not sleep and when he does…he dreams of pulp women 🙂
Hi, I’m Liz, and I’ve worked as a contractor at NASA for going on 19 years now. I still love the space industry and all things scifi. When we started this project I went through all the images we had at the time to pick my favorites and had to stop when it got into the hundreds. Each picture is more amazing than the last. I’m very excited to bring this collection to the public!
